A Midsummer Night's Dream
October 23rd-November 1st, 2026
Directed by Jennifer Phinney
Written by William Shakespeare
In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, residents of Athens mix with fairies from a local forest, with comic results. In the city, Theseus, Duke of Athens, is to marry Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons. Bottom the weaver and his friends rehearse in the woods a play they hope to stage for the wedding celebrations. Four young Athenians are in a romantic tangle. Lysander and Demetrius love Hermia; she loves Lysander and her friend Helena loves Demetrius. Hermia’s father, Egeus, commands Hermia to marry Demetrius, and Theseus supports the father’s right. All four young Athenians end up in the woods, where Robin Goodfellow, who serves the fairy king Oberon, puts flower juice on the eyes of Lysander, and then Demetrius, unintentionally causing both to love Helena. Oberon, who is quarreling with his wife, Titania, uses the flower juice on her eyes. She falls in love with Bottom, who now, thanks to Robin Goodfellow, wears an ass’s head. As the lovers sleep, Robin Goodfellow restores Lysander’s love for Hermia, so that now each young woman is matched with the man she loves. Oberon disenchants Titania and removes Bottom’s ass’s head. The two young couples join the royal couple in getting married, and Bottom rejoins his friends to perform the play. -The Folger Shakespeare Library

ACT is hosting a special 30th Anniversary celebration of Wes Phinney and Ward Satterfield’s beloved adaptation of the Charles Dickens’ classic!
"‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens is a novella published in 1843. It tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser visited by the ghost of his former business partner and three Christmas spirits. Through these supernatural encounters, Scrooge confronts his lonely past, observes the present struggles of those around him, and glimpses a bleak future. The question remains: can a lifetime of greed and selfishness be transformed into compassion and generosity before it's too late?” - Project Gutenberg

Come From Away

Directed by Mary McLawhorn
Book and Lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hen
Orchestrations by August Eriksmoen
Arrangements by Ian Eisendrath
Licensed through Music Theatre International
“Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.
"Come From Away gives theatres the opportunity to contribute to its worldwide impact by spreading the show's message of kindness, unity, and resilience with their communities. With a flexible cast size and possibilities for technical creativity, Come From Away is guaranteed to be a show for audiences to remember.” - Music Theatre International
